i'm a toolmaster guy . the NT-40 1-D is a great mill . the 1-c is a real cinci gearhead, but not a bpt type machine . slow rpms. for quick drilling setups - a bridgeport is more agile . but r8 spindles can't mill like a 40 taper. my 1-D will outhog my Haas VF-3 all day long. it can run a 1" endmill in steel with no complaints.
