The Atlas motor belt would be a good candidate for a ribbed belt as the smaller groove on the motor pulley is pretty small. But I don't think it's necessary for the spindle belt. Several years ago, I ran a survey asking for industry belt numbers for all of the atlas lathes. Unfortunately, I did not record how many "votes" each of the belt sizes that I ended up with got. The 6" belt numbers that I received were 3L350 for the spindle and 3L210 for the motor. And 2L290 for the Mk2 (which only has one belt).
